Samsung’s QLED screens have been updated in 2021. A new line of “Neo QLED” is presented. Three key technological advantages of Neo QLED TVs:
- Samsung uses in them fundamentally a new light source called Quantum Mini LED. Why are there 16 neural network models instead of one previously?
16 neural networks – each responsible for a separate category of content. The quality of scaling (upscaling) is significantly improved in comparison with the same process carried out by a single neural network.
How does Quantum Mini technology affect overall energy efficiency?
Compared to previous models, the Neo QLED 2021 takes advantage of a local power distribution system that redirects power from dark areas to light areas – so dark areas become darker and light areas brighter with the same power consumption.
MICRO LED
- MICRO LED is the only product that can create color or emit light on its own. Samsung MICRO LED panels use 24 million LEDs, each just a few microns in size. They are capable of displaying 100% DCI and Adobe RGB color gamut.
- MICRO LEDs are made of inorganic materials that are distinguished by a long resource and durability, due to which the service life of such a panel reaches 100,000 hours, while the risk of matrix burnout is reduced.
The main difference of the 4Vue function in MICRO LED panels
- 4Vue function (Quad-view) differs from MultiView in number of windows and supported signal sources. In the case of 4Vue, users can simultaneously view up to four different windows with images from different sources (including apps, mobile devices and HDMI signals).
- This feature takes advantage of the huge screen space of the MICRO LED array and effectively allows the MICRO LED panel to be used as four different screens.
- Auto Low Latency Mode (Auto Low Latency Mode) – This allows the TV to automatically detect connected game consoles, detect when they are turned on, and switch to ALLM mode during gameplay to optimize performance.
- Ultra-wide Game View function– Provides a wider field of view by displaying areas on the sides of the screen that tend to be clipped on conventional TVs. Super Ultra-Wide Game View allows the user to choose between 16: 9, 21: 9 and 32: 9 aspect ratios to provide the optimal screen aspect ratio for the most immersive gaming experience.
