As you know, Samsung has been one of the world’s largest display manufacturers and a leader in TVs for 15 consecutive years. The company has decided to host a series of events this year that highlight their new product lines. Yesterday’s seminar was dedicated to the MICRO LED, Neo QLED 8K / 4K models, The Frame, The Serif and The Sero design series, and new smart monitors and Samsung services.

MICRO LED

Let’s start with Samsung’s top-of-the-line MICRO LED line. This technology uses 24-micron LEDs, which eliminate the need for additional illumination and colour filters. The diodes themselves emit light and give it colour thanks to their own pixel structures. These matrices are capable of transmitting 100% DCI and Adobe RGB colour gamuts. The result is a rich picture with realistic colours and high brightness.

Moreover, MICRO LED is made from inorganic materials, which means you can count on a longer TV service life. Samsung claims 100,000 hours of burnout-free battery life. The MICRO LED range includes both monolithic and modular designs. The 110 ″ and 99 ″ models will be the first on sale, but by the end of the year, there will be versions with a smaller diagonal.

MICRO LED TVs to look very impressive in the interior thanks to their completely frameless design. The display takes up 99% of the front panel area, which definitely creates a wow effect. Also, the devices offer various software features. For example, the 4Vue function allows you to take full advantage of the devices’ large diagonal. It can display images from four sources at once, such as TV channels, consoles, mobile devices and applications. So now it’s much easier to watch Champions League matches that start at the same time.

Neo QLED 8K/4K

The new line of Neo QLED TVs is an evolution of the already familiar QLED models. The Neo QLED uses Quantum Matrix technology. The new models offer extremely high-quality images with improved black detail, deeper colours and increased brightness compared to conventional QLED. The Quantum Mini LED backlight measures only 1 / 40th the height of a conventional LED. Instead of a lens to diffuse light and housing that locks the LED in place, the Quantum Mini LED consists of very thin microspheres containing many more LEDs. The grayscale has been increased to 4096 gradations to reproduce the dark details of the image best.

The Neo Quantum processor is responsible for improving the picture in Neo QLED TVs, which processes and optimizes the incoming data. The chipset uses up to 16 different neural network models to apply upscaling technology even for streaming video in SD resolution. As a result, even watching regular TV channels will be more pleasant because it will be clearer and more detailed.

Also worth noting is the audio component of the new Neo QLED TVs. The devices support SpaceFit Sound, Object Tracking Sound Pro and Q-Symphony technologies, which adapt the sound to the room in which the TV is located, project dynamic sound by the movement of objects on the screen, and allow you to synchronize sound with Samsung soundbars. An Auto EQ function calibrates the sound quality by optimizing the low frequencies – from 20 to 100 Hz. By the way, Samsung branded soundbars are equipped with Bluetooth and an NFC module. This made it possible to implement the Tap Sound function when a Galaxy smartphone user, with one touch of his gadget to the soundbar, can establish a connection between them to transmit an audio stream.

By the way, Neo QLED TVs should also appeal to gamers because they provide the Super Ultrawide GameView function. It allows you to change the game’s aspect ratio from 16: 9 to 21: 9 or 32: 9. Thus, the user can expand the visible area in the game. Also, the TVs have a Game Bar containing various settings to enhance the gaming experience. And the FreeSync Premium Pro feature is responsible for providing dynamic frame rates.

If you are more interested in the workflow, then Samsung’s new products can be useful in this aspect. When you connect your webcam to your TV, you can use the Duo service. Moreover, the devices allow you to work with documents in Microsoft Office 365. You need to connect a keyboard and mouse.
