Qualcomm has said it plans to invest in Arm if NVIDIA’s acquisition falls through. This could be due to the ban on the deal by several regulators.

Qualcomm chief executive Cristiano Amon said Qualcomm would be ready to buy out its stake in Arm and other industry players. NVIDIA’s Arm acquisition is currently under investigation by the UK Competition and Markets Authority. Other countries such as the United States and Japan have expressed similar concerns about the implications of the deal (Japan’s Softbank Group owns arm).

Previously, Google and Microsoft have also expressed concern about a potential deal between NVIDIA and Arm. According to these companies, this takeover could potentially make it difficult to compete in the market.
