June 15 on the Chinese website Baidu appeared in alleged screenshots of the next version of Windows, credited with the name Windows 11. They show an updated interface of the operating system and a redesigned Start menu. The Verge editor Tom Warren confirmed the authenticity of the images and noted that they were taken in Windows 11 Pro.

The UI changes shown in these screenshots are very similar to those seen in Windows 10X before Microsoft canceled the project in favor of Windows 11. Application icons are now centered on the taskbar with a new button and Start menu. The new Start Menu is a simplified version of what is now in Windows 10, without the notorious Live Tiles. It includes pinned apps and the ability to shut down or restart Windows 11 devices quickly.

Simultaneously with the screenshots, a video appeared on the network with a demonstration of the operation of Windows 11 and the sound of turning on the OS.

Last week Microsoft updated Windows 10 landing page and indicated the exact dates for completing support for the OS – it expires on October 14, 2025. In addition, Microsoft has made several explicit hints that the next version of Windows will be numbered 11, including a recent 11-minute music video featuring launch sounds for various versions of Windows.

The presentation of the “next-generation Windows” will take place on June 24.
