As a rule, we test new items – devices released several years ago are rarely in our test laboratory, and only if the user’s interest in them has not faded away. AOC U3277PWQU is just one of them. This is a solid, versatile monitor that will suit both home and office users, as well as those who work with color and graphics. Judging by the mark on the box, the display supports the Overdrive mode for overclocking the matrix – gamers will appreciate it.

Appearance, Design, Assembly

One glance at the AOC U3277PWQU is enough to understand that we are facing a serious device. The screen is edged with frames 2 cm thick – unlike fashionable frameless novelties. The body is made of thick, durable plastic – you can see it right away. The silver plank at the bottom of the case matches the finish of the stand.

The AOC U3277PWQU stand is heavy and massive. However, it could not be otherwise: the monitor diagonal is 31.5 inches! The graceful, fragile stands that manufacturers equip more modern models would hardly keep it on the table. In our case, the monitor is stable, the panel does not wobble. The only caveat is that the stand takes up a lot of space: you will have to adapt to this. There are no openings for cable outlet in the leg, but there is a special bracket for their neat laying.

The stand pleases with a wide functionality: it allows you to change the angle of inclination and rotation of the display, adjust its height, and also translate from landscape to portrait orientation – this mode is useful for reading and creating multi-monitor configurations. If desired, the native monitor stand can be replaced with an alternative (VESA 100 mount is provided).

There are plenty of connectors to connect to signal sources: we found: D-Sub, DVI, DisplayPort 1.2 x 1, HDMI 2.0. The analog output should not be surprised: the monitor supports PIP and PBP technologies, which allow you to display images from two sources simultaneously. In the first case, the picture from the secondary device is placed in the main image, and in the second – next to it. A built-in USB hub with two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports is provided. It is convenient to use for connecting peripherals and external drives.

As we mentioned above, the AOC U3277PWQU is a universal monitor, so the manufacturer tried to provide a maximum of functions in it that would meet the requirements of users of different categories. Overdrive for overclocking the matrix is useful for gamers. Movie buffs will appreciate the Bright Frame option to brighten any area of the picture.

The menu is traditional: it is executed in a horizontal orientation and appears from the bottom frame of the display. The keys are mechanical: due to the tactile feedback, they are much more convenient to use than touch buttons.

We start testing the monitor with color gamut. We fixed 82% sRGB and 62% Adobe RGB – this may not be enough for professional color and graphics work, but you can edit photos on an amateur level.

The gamma is fine-tuned: the curve is just short of the reference curve, but this can be corrected with simple calibration. The brightness is 60 cd / m 2. The backlighting is uniform, we did not find any Glow effect. There were no questions about color accuracy: we found only a few outliers beyond three DeltaE units.

AOC U3277PWQU made a good impression: we liked the solid construction, support for PIP and PBP modes – images from different sources can be placed on a large workspace. Do not discount the attractive price – new items of this level are several times more expensive.
