After defeating the enemy, Ukraine will restore all energy infrastructure facilities that were damaged or destroyed as a result of Russia’s military aggression. This was stated by Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
“According to preliminary estimates, tens of billions of hryvnias have been damaged to energy infrastructure facilities. But we will build everything after our victory. We will make the energy system even more reliable and modern, it will meet the best European standards,” he stressed.
German Galushchenko stressed that repair teams are trying to restore gas and electricity supply to settlements as soon as possible. At the same time, the work complicates the fighting.
“The most serious problems are now in the section of the Donetsk-Mariupol gas pipeline. There’s a big gap there. But active fighting is underway. There are brigades standing there ready to immediately go for elimination, but we are waiting for appropriate opportunities in terms of security,” the minister said.
Also, among the problematic restoration of gas and electricity supply, the head of the Ministry of Energy named areas north of Kyiv:
“There are also active hostilities. We have been able to restore power to some towns, but problems remain for many.”
At the same time, in general, the Ukrainian energy system works stably, Herman Galushchenko emphasized. He recalled that Ukraine has been working in an isolated mode for the 13th day and is working quite successfully, providing the technical parameters that should be in the power system, in particular, the frequency of 50 Hz.
Recall that as a result of shelling by the occupiers, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was de-energized. As a result, due to overheating in the storage of nuclear waste, a radioactive cloud may rise, which can spread to other regions of Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Europe.
