Twitter has started testing dislikes on user responses. Now the button has become available only to some users of the application on iOS. Users’ reactions will not be displayed publicly – dislikes are visible only to the person who placed them.
In their account, the Twitter developers noted that they began testing to understand what types of responses users “consider relevant in the conversation” and show more like that.
Twitter also added options for the design of likes and disliked – icons with thumbs up and down and up and down arrows. Twitter announced the possible appearance of the “dislike” button back in November 2020. It was reported that they would serve to combat misinformation and abuse at the site.
