The most interesting smartphones of the first half of 2021

The first half of 2021 is not over yet, but all the most interesting smartphones have already seen the light of day. In this short article, we will look at several of these solutions. And let’s go by chronology.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Samsung was the first to hold a big presentation in 2021. The main novelty is the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The flagship of the new generation was presented on January 14 and went on sale in Russia almost a month later.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a new Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 chip. The screen now supports a 120Hz refresh rate at WQHD resolution. The main camera resolution is 108 Mp + 10 Mp + 10 Mp + 12 Mp. She got two telephoto lenses with 10x and 3x zoom. The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh. One of the chips is support for the S Pen stylus.

Vivo X60 Pro +

The Chinese company Vivo unveiled the X60 Pro + camera phone on January 21. Its main feature is the main camera with a 50 Mp + 48 Mp + 32 Mp + 8 Mp. It includes telephoto lenses with 2x and 5x optical zoom.

In vivo X60 Pro +, we also note the Snapdragon 888 processor, a 4,200 mAh battery, and a 32-megapixel front camera. The Super AMOLED screen measures 6.56 inches diagonally and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

Huawei Mate X2

On February 22nd, the first bendable smartphone in 2021, the Huawei Mate X2, was unveiled. It is equipped with an 8 “foldable OLED screen and an additional 6.45” display. Both support 120Hz refresh rates.

The Huawei Mate X2 has a main camera with 50 Mp + 16 Mp + 12 Mp + 8 Mp. The front camera is built on a 16-megapixel sensor. The proprietary SoC Kirin 9000 is responsible for the smartphone’s performance, and the battery with a capacity of 4,500 mAh is responsible for the autonomy.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

On March 29, Xiaomi unveiled a smartphone named the world’s best camera phone by the DxOMark benchmark. It’s called Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. The main camera has two 48-megapixel modules, a 50-megapixel sensor, a 5x optical zoom, stabilization, and supports 8K UHD.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is the company’s first smartphone with IP68 water resistance. The model also received the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor, QHD + display with refresh rate, and Harman / Kardon stereo speakers. The 5000mAh battery supports 67W fast wired and wireless charging. Another feature of the flagship is an additional 1.1-inch display on the back.

Xiaomi Mi MIX FOLD

The last smartphone in our selection is the Xiaomi Mi MIX FOLD. It was announced on March 30th. This is the first model from the company to be equipped with a foldable display. It has a diagonal of 8.01 inches. On the back is a 6.52-inch 90-Hz screen.

In the Xiaomi Mi MIX FOLD features, there are four stereo speakers, a modification with a ceramic body, and a liquid lens in the telephoto lens. The main camera’s resolution is 108 Mp + 13 Mp + 8 Mp, and the front camera is 20 Mp. Also worth noting is a 5,000 mAh battery with 67-watt charging.

As you can see, the first half of 2021, which has not yet ended, brought the world many interesting smartphones. We have not considered some of them. For example, three modifications of ASUS ROG Phone 5, Lenovo Legion 2 Pro, Nubia Red Magic 6 Pro, and Black Shark 4 family. Hopefully, this year we will see many more interesting solutions. It is hoped that this will be the Nubia Z30 Pro, which is expected to premiere at the end of May.
