Epic Company announced about a round of investments to raise $2 billion for a joint metaverse with Sony and LEGO. Each of the companies will allocate $ 1 billion, and the parent holding KIRKBI acts from the LEGO Group.

KIRKBI CEO Søren Thorup Sørensen adds that the investment will go towards “the world of the future, in which we and our children will live.”
According to Tim Sweeney, founder and CEO of Epic Games, the funding will accelerate work to launch a metaverse where “players will have fun with friends, and brands will create creative and immersive experiences.”
Epic’s capital is valued at $31.5 billion and the closing of the investment is subject to regulatory approval.
Previously, the LEGO Group and Epic Games announced plans to create a metaverse that would be safe for children and families.
