Sleek and harmonious: Philips 276E9QJAB monitor review

If a few years ago manufacturers did not care too much about the appearance of monitors, today beautiful design is one of the main criteria by which users choose displays. Philips 276E9QJAB arrived for our review – a 27-inch IPS monitor with a frameless design, a set of technologies for a natural, vivid image and modes for eye protection.

The display is packaged in a large box with foam plates for shock protection. It is better to go shopping together – the size of the package is rather big, to match the content. The package includes a set of cables: power, audio cable, HDMI, stand, user manual and warranty documents.

The stand looks fragile – but this is only an apparent appearance. Its top is made of durable, thick plastic and the base is made of metal. The stand is attached to the display with a screw – a mechanical latch would not cope with the impressive weight of the monitor. In our case, the large display is securely fixed on the table, does not wobble or slip. The steel color of the stand is in harmony with the refined body, edged with subtle frames.

The stand allows you to adjust the angle of the monitor forward / backward. The back panel, made of glossy plastic, has connectors for a standard VESA 100 mount – the display can be hung on the wall.

The choice of video connectors Philips 276E9QJAB is impressive: we found ports VGA, DVI, HDMI, Display Port, a headphone input. The monitor is equipped with built-in 2 and 3 W speakers. They are unlikely to be suitable for listening to music, but for dubbing the workflow and watching videos, it’s easy, you don’t have to connect speakers for this. The sound is loud and bright: of course, there is no bass, but the middle and upper frequencies are well developed.

The joystick on the rear panel is used to control the monitor parameters and navigate through the menus. With it, you can adjust the volume of the built-in acoustics, activate special modes, adjust brightness, contrast, color temperature, gamma.

Due to the high values of brightness and contrast, the image is juicy and saturated. Accurate color reproduction ensures a realistic picture – the display is suitable for working with color and graphics. Thanks to the wide viewing angles, the image is not distorted even when deviating significantly from direct viewing.
