Over the course of the year, I listened to various headphones, but I still have a hot feeling for Sennheiser’s top-end wireless TWS headphones. I mean model Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2, which has recently been also available in a special anniversary version called the Anniversary Edition.

Everything that I liked about the headphones, I talked about in the review. Now I want to remind you of the main advantages of this model.

First of all, the headphones impress with the sound quality. This is not only my subjective opinion but in general, a very high assessment of the model by the majority of gadget writers, bloggers and other people who are not indifferent to technology.

Personally, the headphones hooked me with how cleanly and deeply they play through the 7-mm drivers while maintaining an impressive headroom. The sound is well balanced: the bass is deep, the middle is clear, the high frequencies are clear. If you need an emphasis on bass, you can change the standard settings through the application. There is complete freedom of choice.

The headphones support all modern codecs: they connect to the source via Bluetooth 5.1, support AAC and aptX. I don’t want to argue whether wireless sound can compare with a wired connection, but Sennheiser has done everything to ensure that Bluetooth audio is of the highest quality.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 review: Active Noise Cancellation

I don’t know how we lived before because after trying wireless noise-cancelling headphones, there is no desire to go back to wired headphones without noise reduction.

Small in-ear headphones are good at dampening ambient noise and help you concentrate on the music or the soundtrack of a movie. They are convenient with them on the subway, in a taxi, in a coworking space or the office. Moreover, during the coronavirus epidemic, many were transferred to a remote work mode to be useful at home.

In case you want to talk to others, but you are in no mood to take the earpiece out of your ear, the Transparent Hearing function will come in handy. It can be launched by touching the headphone case and hear what people nearby are talking about.

If you want, you can use the Google or Apple assistant, calling the voice assistant by touching the touch button.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 review: Different colours

Initially, the headphones appeared in black and silver. A little later, the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 in white was added to the sale.

Then, in honour of Sennheiser’s 75th anniversary, they added a third Anniversary Edition. It features an all-black body and a retro-styled logo.

And of course, you need to remember that IPX4 protection against splashes will be in any version of MOMENTUM True Wireless, regardless of the colour scheme.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 review: Sits comfortably in your ears

I understand that fitting the headphones in the ears is too personal, but I liked this model in ergonomics. Headphones sit tightly, do not fall out during any activity, including jogging. The case is light, the headphones sit comfortably, and you can spend half a day in them listening to music until they require recharging.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 review: Control customization for yourself

There was no room for physical keys in the headphones’ minimalistic design, so all controls are touch-sensitive. Moreover, if you want to customize it for yourself, use the application to change the standard settings and specify your own.

Another important feature of the model: when you take out one earphone, the music playback is automatically paused. After you put the earphone back in, the track starts over.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 review: Long lasting and fast charging

The battery life is quite decent: fully charged headphones can withstand up to 7 hours of operation with noise cancelling turned off, and the volume at 50% of the maximum. If you use noise reduction, in this case, they will last a little less, about 6 hours, but the result is also decent.

Also do not forget about the complete case, taking into account additional recharges it turns out up to 28 hours of work. The cover with a pleasant fabric covering slams shut with a click of a solid thing. The headphones themselves are so tightly attached to the magnets inside that they will not fall out even with the lid open. Although it will not open by accident in principle, you cannot open it without effort.
