For a long time I looked at the Sennheiser GSP 670, I was waiting for someone to send in a review, in the end, I went to the 4frag store, bought there, played for a long time and now I want to tell you everything about this thing. In general, I buy very little equipment per year, but if I do it, then rarely and accurately. I am glad that I was not mistaken here too! The headset is top!
Sennheiser GSP 670 Gaming Headset Review: Design, construction
The headset is available in only one colour, and this is the best colour on planet Earth: you want to look at the dark grey battle headphones! Waves on the cups, reminiscent of a sound wave, different finishing materials, textures, perfect assembly, metal elements behind the cups. Cool. I saw the headphones, and immediately in my head, the hammer hit the table with a clang, SOLD.
There are a couple of disappointing moments, of course. We’ve got advanced headphones here, the best gaming headset ever, then how did the micro-USB go here, huh? Awful, no excuse. The second point is not disappointing, just for your information: this is a very healthy piece, it will not work under a hood. You can wear the GSP 670 outdoors, but passers-by will surely be surprised at your appearance.
Everything else is lovely. The volume knob on the right rotates imposingly and tightly. The microphone boom clicks impressively. It is pleasant to wear a thing, to look at it too. There are no questions about the assembly. Now, while it’s hot, it’s nice to play in an air-conditioned room, there is no feeling of a stove on your ears – if there is no air conditioning, it will be warm, to put it mildly. Passive noise isolation is good. You can even sit and work in the GSP 670.
The claimed operating time is about twenty hours – to be honest, this is not much. For charging, I used a cable connected to the Satechi hub. It felt like it took about two hours to charge fully. The headset goes into sleep mode; if the audio signal is not received for thirty minutes, you can turn it off manually by turning the volume wheel. It happened a couple of times. I was going to play, the headphones say – recharge headset, – you plug in the cable, you play further. So there is no problem. Here’s the shame: the Smart Button functions on the right cup can only be changed when connected to a PC, and I don’t have a PC. And you can update the headset only from a PC. Apparently, you have to drag it to the office and do it all on the office PC. The very word PC I like soooo, that at least take the saints out of the hut.
Over time, you can change the ear pads, the pads next to the cups, and even the battery – however, this requires a trip to the Sennheiser service centre.
Working with other devices, features
I used the headset only with PS4, but the instructions say that it is easy to connect it to both a mobile phone and a PC – alas, I only have poppies at home, and the Sennheiser Gaming Suite for macOS has not been released. It’s a shame! As reviewers on Western sites say, there is generally little put in for a lot of money. There are no 5.1, built-in sound cards, like the HyperX Revolver S, there are no magic positioning systems like Audeze Mobius, there is no unique compatibility like SteelSeries Arctis 1. With PS4 Pro, the knob responsible for the chat volume does not work – you can only adjust the overall volume, and that’s it. But “senhi” bribe with sound, I will tell about it below.

The cups are decorated interestingly, on the outside it is eco-leather, a material resembling suede comes into contact with your skin, inside there is a light fabric – mesh. Nice, technologically advanced, affects the convenience – I went through The Last of Us before releasing the second part and wore headphones for three or four hours in a row, no problems. The drivers are covered with a fabric of a different texture with a logo. And all this together distinguishes the model from others – for me personally, the finish and small details are critical. See how the lower part of the headband is made: these “ribs” are stuffed with soft material, the head does not sweat from above, because there is a gap.
The headband is adjusted in two steps. The first one is the standard. We move the cups along with the plastic guides. The second technique – we move the sliders on the top of the headband, they are responsible for the cups’ tight fit as if squeezing them.
Even on my big head (Gucci caps have to look for XL, which is a rarity), the headset fits right, mega-comfortable, just a top. Like many other gaming headsets, the boom arm is movable: when you tilt it up, there is a click, the sound is muted. It is convenient. You can talk to your wife on the phone and then return to the game chat.

The most pleasant connection, the adapter must be inserted into the USB port of the set-top box, turn on the headset, press the button on the “whistle”, one-two-three – and the connection message immediately follows. Reconnection without problems, the device never fell off. But as soon as I connected a proprietary accessory to the gamepad, additional buttons at the bottom (there will be a review!), The microphone immediately stopped working. Rebooting the set-top box did not help, I plugged the Bluetooth adapter into another port – and everything worked right away.
One more thing: if you are in one position for a long time and then deviate from the adapter to the sides, subtle interruptions in sound are possible. However, this can be blamed on the cluttered broadcast of the house. In general, I did not notice any serious problems with connection and communication.
If you’re interested, the dongle is called the Sennheiser GSA 70, and, in principle, you can use it with other headsets.
Sennheiser GSP 670 Gaming Headset Review: Sound
Here it is necessary to divide the chapter into two parts. The first part will be devoted to Warzone. I have already said how to adjust the volume: in the game settings, turn down the overall volume to thirty per cent, select “Low frequencies” (in principle, the preset may be different, the volume is more important), try it. This setting is ideal for a chat: you will hear your friends even during any noisy events, and it will be good. Despite the lack of some engine and other tweaks, the positioning is perfect. You run into the house, stop and immediately understand from which side the box is making noise (I mean the Blood Money mode), whether someone is walking here or not. Not once or twice, while playing with my comrades, I was the first to detect the enemy’s presence by sound. You can hear where the bullets are coming from. You can hear the technique, just fine. The sounds of the fight are amazing; all the other sounds are great. I’m amazed.
If we talk about a regular game, then here are the impressions of The Last of Us. The clicking of monsters is disgusting, the shot from the shotgun makes you laugh happily and jump on the couch – yes, so good! – the arrow whistles, the bowstring creaks, a Molotov cocktail flies into the enemy’s head, and then everyone yells, and everything starts moving. I really liked it.
The company does not say which driver is used, but I think it is huge and picked up through many trial and error—massive impressions. I can’t wait for The Last of Us Part II. It will be good!
Sennheiser GSP 670 Gaming Headset Review: Verdict
In retail, headphones cost about 319.00 dollars. You can find both cheaper and more expensive. I really like the purchase. I will add the review after studying the proprietary software for the computer until I had time. There is also an interesting point: the instructions indicate the operating time of 20 hours in normal mode and 16 hours in the “low latency” mode, but nowhere is it written how to turn it on and whether I need it.
In any case, and without this mode, the GSP 670 provides amazing sound quality with a set-top box – it has not been such pleasure for a long time. And maybe it’s for the best when there are no mega-features – Sennheiser paid a lot of attention to your gaming experience, and thanks a lot for that. An expensive thing, I admit it, but you can also use it with a gaming laptop / PC on a trip / in the country: your family is asleep, you play top-notch, because every sound here is a direct experience, especially in dramatic games like TLoU. The headset will work with the new generation of consoles, and there will be a place for it at work, well, in general, Sennheiser has done a thing, well done.
