Scott Pilgrim tries to return to the big screen. Dolby Cinema and director Edgar Wright announced Wednesday that the iconic classic film “Scott Pilgrim vs. All “ will return to theaters to celebrate its tenth anniversary with a new version. The new version has been specifically reimagined for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
“Scott Pilgrim vs. All” was designed for the big screen and the best sound systems, ”said Edgar Wright, director, producer, and co-screenwriter of the film. “Seeing him with improved performance is obviously every director’s dream. I suspect that you will enjoy seeing it like this if you are a fan of the movie. ”
The new version of the film is also accompanied by a new trailer, drawing on some of the film’s funniest and most cited lines. Also, the new trailer is a great reminder that the cast of Scott Pilgrim was absolutely talented and included two future Avengers.
The changes seem to be mainly related to sound and picture optimized for Dolby technology. The new version of the film will be presented on April 30 for just one week and only in Dolby Cinema.
Fortunately, there is good news for those who may not be able to get into the movies. According to Edgar Wright, the film will be released on Blu-ray in 4K. However, there is no confirmed release date yet.
This new #DolbyVision & #DolbyAtmos version was supervised by the original team of sound mixer Julian Slater, colorist Stephen Nakamura, DP Bill Pope, myself and editor Paul Machliss. And yes, a 4K Ultra HD Blu Ray is coming soon too (street date TBA).
