Samsung has quietly re-released another 2020 device, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. Sales will start on May 23rd.

When comparing the specs of the original and the 2022 edition, two important things stand out. First is the version of Android that – the new tablet ships with Android 12 instead of 10. Second is the chipset as the Snapdragon 720G (8nm) replaces the Exynos 9611 (10nm). This means higher CPU and GPU performance compared to the original.

The original Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite was updated to Android 12 a couple of months ago and is eligible for another update (and a year of security patches after that). However, given the relatively old hardware, it’s unclear what update schedule the 2022 edition can expect.

Another thing to pay attention to is the price. The 4/64 GB model costs €400, €20 more than the original two years ago. Also, there is neither a 128GB version nor an LTE version, although this could be due to the fact that the tablet has just been released.

The rest is the same. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) features a 10.4-inch 2000×1200 pixel LCD that supports the included S Pen. It is equipped with 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot, as well as a 7040 mAh battery. There are a pair of AKG-tuned speakers with Dolby Atmos support and a 3.5mm jack.
