Fast charging technologies for smartphones are evolving very quickly. Usually, all new items in this area are the first to be offered by Chinese brands, such as OPPO, which recently showed 125W Super Flash Charging technology.

According to a new leak, south Korean Samsung is currently working on a 65-watt fast charger for its upcoming flagship smartphones. It can be applied in the Galaxy S22 series for the first time, which will be released early next year.

Samsung’s premium smartphones usually come with 45W fast charging support, such as the Galaxy Note 10+. However, most devices in the mid-to-low-end segment support 15W to 25W charging. This is quite small since other brands offer much more powerful charging devices in the same price segment.

The 65W charger was already certified by TÜV SÜD in February this year. The charger will have a maximum output of 20V / 3.25A and support the USB-IF PD (Power Delivery) standard with a Programmable Power Supply (PPS) setting.
