Samsung company launched a new monitor model last summer – C27T55 (LC27T550FDIXCI). It is equipped with a 27-inch 1000R curvature display. The device offers pretty good specs for its money. The monitor came to us for a couple of days, and we are ready to share our impressions about it.
The Samsung C27T55 has a minimalist look that will fit on any desktop. The body is painted black. The back cover has a fabric texture. There are no bright inserts. The bezels around the screen are minimal. The monitor is only 7.9mm thick, and the round base is 6mm thick. The leg allows you to change the angle of the display.
I liked the design of the monitor. It looks restrained, but at the same time stylish. Effectiveness, of course, adds a curved display. Conveniently, the connectors for connecting image sources are hidden under the cap.
Samsung says the C27T55 is eye-safe certified by TÜV Rheinland for its curved display. There have even been various studies that have shown curved monitors cause less eye strain than flat-panel monitors. In practice, I note that you get used to such a solution quickly, and it was comfortable to work with such a monitor. I did not notice a significant difference in eye fatigue than a flat monitor of the same size. But, most likely, you need to use the C27T55 for a longer time.
Even though the Samsung C27T55 is an entry-level monitor, it received a high-quality VA-matrix with Full HD resolution and matte finish. The brightness level is 250 cd / m², which is enough for indoor use. The refresh rate is 75 Hz, the response time is 4 ms. The picture leaves a pleasant impression – good color rendition and clarity. However, higher resolution models can also be viewed for 27 inches.
We were delighted to support AMD FreeSync technology, which synchronizes the screen’s refresh rate with the frame rate of compatible graphics cards, which can reduce or eliminate visual artifacts during games. A separate gaming monitor mode is also provided. A couple of other useful features are Eye Saver Mode, which reduces the intensity of the blue glow of the backlight, and Flicker-Free, which reduces screen flickering.
The Samsung C27T55 has built-in 5W speakers, delivering a pleasant sound for this class of device. The connection interfaces include HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort 1.2, 3.5 mm audio input and output connectors.
The cost of Samsung C27T55 is currently $237 . For the money, you get a stylish monitor with a curved display for a pleasing picture. Of course, such a device is not suitable for professional work with images and video, but it is just that for office tasks and games. I want the monitor to have a slightly higher resolution, and USB ports would be excellent. However, these moments are already available in more expensive models.
