In Russia, after the shutdown of the international payment systems Visa and MasterCard, payment methods via Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay stopped working.
Google additionally sent out emails to app developers informing them that the Google Play billing system was being disabled. It will not be available to users in Russia. Now Russians will not be able to buy apps and games, subscribe to paid services, or make in-app purchases of digital goods using Google Pay.
Apple announced that it was shutting down the payment service on March 2nd. Since March 10, Russian iOS users have been unable to pay with their iPhone, and when they try to link a new card, the message “Apple Pay is not yet available in this region” appears.
The Samsung Pay payment service also does not work in Russia. Its shutdown became known on the night of March 10.
