Entry-level smartphones remain in demand at all times, so they took the new ZTE Blade V30 Vita for a test. It attracts attention with a decent amount of memory 4/128 GB, NFC and Type-C, a large screen, and a capacious 5000 mAh battery.
The smartphone turned out to be quite large: it got a large display, and therefore the body is impressive in size. As the saying goes, “shovel,” but by the standards of the class, the dimensions are acceptable. You can always feel the phone in your pocket, so in summer, it can stick out in thin shorts or trousers – after all, it weighs 210 grams.
There are three colors to choose from: in addition to the basic black version, the ZTE Blade V30 Vita can be blue or green. The smart blue-blue gradient looks just fine.
The body is made of simple but practical matte plastic with a well-felt texture. Such plastic will calmly withstand a fall. It is non-staining and does not try to slip out of the palm.
The power button is located on the right side, and a fingerprint scanner is also built into it. The sensor works well and recognizes touch the first time. There are mistakes with wet fingers, but this is already beyond the usual use case.
The block with cameras is located on a black glossy insert that protrudes slightly above the body. It looks neat, but it can wiggle if the phone lines on the surface with the screen up.
They did not waste time on trifles with the screen size: the ZTE Blade V30 Vita has as much as 6.82 inches. Of course, at a resolution of 720 × 1640 pixels, the grain can be seen without much difficulty, but in this case, we are talking about an inexpensive smartphone. Therefore, it makes no sense to find fault – the image quality is good for its price. The wide frames and “chin” are also not surprising. After all, the device is not very expensive; hence the requests for its appearance are minimal.
As a matrix, an IPS panel with natural color rendition and an average margin of brightness is used. On the street, for example, on a bright July day under the sun, the data on display is not very visible. You have to look for a shadow.
There is an oleophobic coating, a display without pronounced curved edges – there will be no difficulties with a protective glass sticker. There is a light sensor for automatic brightness control, and a proximity sensor turns off the backlight when you bring the phone closer to your face during a call.
Summing up, we can say that we get a huge screen, suitable for entertainment like video, reading, or viewing social networks with photos, with good sensitivity and high-quality oleophobic coating.
We get a simple set in the ZTE Blade V30 Vita: two SIM cards, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. There is also NFC for purchases. You can set up Google Pay.
The smartphone received a concisely designed interface. I love that. In general, all Android manufacturers are moving away from overloaded skins to simple systems. There is less load on the system. The menu works smoother – after all, the processor in a smartphone is quite ancient. Usually, there is something from the entry-level Qualcomm or MediaTek in budget devices, but in this case, we get the Unisoc SC9863A from 2018, made according to the 28nm process technology.
Storage space is surprisingly large for a budget smartphone: as much as 128 GB and 4 GB of RAM – you can live, although it’s better to forget about demanding shooters right away.
I do not have the only dynamics of questions regarding the quality of the audio: it plays loudly, even if it wheezes at the maximum. The main thing is that you will not miss the call melody if you want to, and the alarm clock rings for the whole apartment.
In the smartphone, in addition to the main universal camera of 48 megapixels with an aperture of f/1.8, we get an additional sensor for processing portraits of 2 megapixels with an aperture of f/2.4. For shooting small objects in close-up, a 5-megapixel macro lens is useful. It has an aperture of f/2.4.
The 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture has an additional mode for shooting self-portraits blurring the background.
Here are examples of shooting in various conditions on all cameras of the phone. Best of all, he succeeds in daytime shots, and even the optional night mode does not help in poor lighting.

The phone is equipped with an 18 W charger. With its help, the 5000 mAh battery can be fully charged in 2.5 hours. It is perfect that USB Type-C is used – sometimes, even in 2021, new items from the world of smartphones with the old micro-USB come across.
If necessary, ZTE Blade V30 Vita can be turned into a mobile Power Bank and charge any device – the main thing is not to forget about a suitable cable.
Despite the old processor, there are no problems with power consumption. The smartphone works quietly for a couple of days: a little navigation, correspondence in instant messengers, background music in Spotify. In total, we get about 6-6.5 hours of active screen. There is always enough charge for a day.
The ZTE Blade V30 Vita costs $164 roughly.
A smartphone for those who are not looking for something special and outstanding in devices, but are on a budget and want not the simplest, but at the same time convenient phone. In the ZTE Blade V30 Vita, we get decent autonomy, a tolerable camera, and nice bonuses like NFC or an interface without overloaded elements.
