As the release dates for the new AMD Radeon RX 6600 and Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics cards are approaching, more and more information about these devices appears on the network. This time we will talk about the recommended retail price and the dates of the announcement, and the start of sales.
According to the available information, the base version of the AMD Radeon RX 6600 will be $299, and the more powerful model Radeon RX 6600 XT will receive a price tag of $349. The Radeon RX 6600 XT price is allegedly justified by the fact that it delivers better performance than the competing NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 solution with an MSRP of $329. When it comes to ray tracing, AMD’s upcoming graphics card is inferior to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti version, which has a suggested retail price of $399. AMD originally planned to price the Radeon RX 6600 XT at $369, but the company did not want customers to opt for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, which has 1.5 times the memory (12GB).
It should be noted that in this case, we are only talking about the manufacturer’s recommended retail price. Given the current shortage of video cards, the actual cost of the device in retail may be noticeably higher. According to some sources, the price of AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT in Europe will not be lower than € 499, which corresponds to about $588 at the current exchange rate.
Sources also confirm the technical specifications of the upcoming Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card. It is expected to receive a Navi 23 GPU with 32 execution units and 2048 stream processors. The device is supplemented with 8 GB GDDR6 memory with a 128-bit access bus. In the case of the Radeon RX 6600, a GPU with partially disabled compute units is used, resulting from which the number of stream processors is reduced to 1792.
