Dell begins to use AMD Ryzen mobile processors in various gaming laptops actively. So, the company has prepared the Dell G15 Ryzen Edition model for release.
The Dell G15 Ryzen Edition is equipped with a 15-inch display with Full HD resolution. Panels are available in 120Hz and 250nits or 165Hz and 165Hz. Later, there will be a configuration with a refresh rate of 360 Hz. Dell G15 Ryzen Edition base gaming laptop includes AMD Ryzen 5 5600H 6-core processor, 8GB 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 discrete graphics with 6GB memory and battery with a capacity of 56 Wh. For more demanding users, a configuration with an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor, more RAM (and the possibility of self-upgrade) is offered, a solid-state drive with a capacity of up to 2 TB and batteries with a capacity of 86 Wh. The novelty will go on sale from April 30 in China and from May 4 in other regions.
Also, Dell has decided to integrate AMD processors into Alienware’s gaming laptop line. The new Alienware M15 R5 will be the brand’s first model with an AMD chip since 2007.
The base configuration of the Alienware M15 R5 includes an 8-core Ryzen 7 5800H processor and a discrete graphics card, a discrete graphics card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. Optionally, you can upgrade both the processor (up to Ryzen 9 5900HX) and the video card (up to GeForce RTX 3070). Both video cards have the same power of 115 W, increasing up to 125 W in high load mode. The GeForce RTX 3060 model has higher operating frequencies. According to Dell, this is the first model within the brand to feature DDR4 3200 MHz RAM. Also, the device offers two SO-DIMM slots, which allows you to upgrade the memory subsystem independently. In the M15 R3 and R4 devices, the RAM was soldered to the motherboard. The supplied battery has a capacity of 86 Wh.
Different versions of the displays are offered to users. The base panel has Full HD resolution, 3ms response time and 165Hz refresh rate. Also, panels are available with increased brightness (up to 300 nits) or increased frequency (up to 360 Hz, 1 ms response time). If this doesn’t seem enough, you can choose QHD panels with a maximum brightness of 400 nits, a refresh rate of 240 Hz, 100% coverage of sRGB or DCI-P3 space G-Sync support. The Alienware M15 R5 Gaming Laptop will go on sale April 20, starting at $ 2,229.99.
