LG has demonstrated a new prototype of a transparent TV at the virtual exhibition CES 2021. In this case, the 55-inch OLED display is hiding in a special stand, which also acts as the bed’s foot.

Display transparency is 40%. LG notes that this is a significant improvement over previous generations of LCD screens, which had a transparency level of only 10%. The display can move only partially, displaying certain information (time, date, weather, etc.) or completely.

LG believes that transparent displays can be used in such home devices and as windows in public transport with maps and stops, partitions in restaurants with menus and special offers, or even entrance doors with advertisements and greetings.
