iPhone 12 Pro sales started a couple of days ago, on October 23. Along with this iPhone, the regular iPhone 12 also went on sale. But the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will appear on store shelves only in November. Today I have been using the brand new iPhone 12 Pro for a little over a day. And, perhaps, I will share my thoughts about it. And of course, there will be a big review a little later.

Of course, most people are interested in the question, what has changed in the iPhone 12 compared to the iPhone 11? Do I need to update? I’ll dot the I right away. It all depends on your desires and needs. Yes, iPhone 12 is the most advanced iPhone to date. And yes, I would update, there are changes, and they are noticeable, albeit with a slightly armed eye.
The first thing you pay attention to is the size of the box. It has become much thinner, almost half the size of the iPhone 11 box. That is, Apple not only removed the charger but also reduced the box to reduce the impact on nature. The screen is now covered with paper (as in the Apple Watch Series 6) rather than plastic. Included with the iPhone 12 Pro, I saw only a Type-C – Lightning wire, and that’s it. Honestly, it only makes me happy.
Firstly, I’ve been using wireless chargers for several years now. And I’m more interested in the availability of MagSafe accessories than the presence of an adapter in the box. Secondly, there are many adapters from different gadgets, and there is no problem charging the iPhone in the apartment. Third, if it can help reduce the carbon footprint and prolong life on the planet, why not. The only thing I’m upset about with the new iPhone 12 is that they didn’t have a USB-C port. Both the MacBook and iPad already have a port of this standard, and the iPhone still has Lightning.
New iPhone 12: Design
Of course, after the box, you pay attention to the design. Someone says that the iPhone 12 is similar to the iPhone 4 or 5. I’m saying that it is similar to the iPad Pro, which is absolutely the right decision. The company’s two flagship mobile devices now look the same. I wouldn’t be surprised if next year we see a thin Apple Watch with similar flat edges.
The iPhone 12 Pro looks gorgeous. Especially in Pacific blue. Photos can’t even convey how beautiful he is. If you get the chance, look for the iPhone 12 Pro in this variant. Apple had a green iPhone 11 Pro last year. He was quite handsome, but the blue is no comparison. Maybe it’s just because my favorite color is blue … But no, not likely.
By the way, as you can see. The camera module does not differ much, except that LiDAR is immediately guessed in the iPhone 12. I talked about this block in detail in the iPad Pro review, but we will test it on the iPhone. It seems to me that it will be more convenient to use LiDAR to scan objects on a small gadget.
But back to design. The iPhone 12 Pro (like the rest of the line) has flat sides. They are made of surgical steel, and the front and back panels are covered with Ceramic Shield glass. It is convenient to hold a smartphone in hands, although there is a little déjà vu feeling. Nevertheless, you immediately realize that you are holding a premium device. The side edges leave a little prints, but the back and front panels practically do not, which is very cool.
I am amazed at how well the body was assembled. There are no gaps at all; only plastic spacers for communication antennas are noticeable. On the other hand, it feels like a monolithic block that has just been molded from metal and glass.
iPhone 12 Pro: Dimensions and Screen
I have held different iPhones in my hands all the time, from the 3Gs to the iPhone 12. And it seems that the iPhone 12 Pro finally has the perfect screen size and body-to-body ratio for me. It has become slightly larger than the iPhone 11 Pro. And I confess that it was difficult for me, tk. The 11 Pro seemed a little small, and the 11 Pro Max was too big.
The iPhone 12 Pro doesn’t have this problem. 6.1 ″ is a great size, at least for me. But I’m sure it will suit the majority. Well, the frames, of course, which are practically absent here. It is a pity, however, that the block with FaceID remained. But I hope someday Apple will make it the same as the iPad Pro, embedding it in the frame.

In terms of performance for 1 day, I can say that I have not seen any slowdowns on the iPhone 12 Pro. Fast, powerful, and very beautiful. I still have to get to a lot of things in it. I’m testing new cameras, night mode, LiDAR, how is it doing with sound and autonomy, and much more. But for now, I can say that this is the perfect iPhone, and even in my favorite color. I absolutely do not want to let go of him.
