Social network Instagram adds a new ability to translate text into stories automatically. Now, when the service detects a foreign language in the publication, the inscription “View translation” will be displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. By clicking on it, users will see the translation at the bottom of the screen.
Instagram says the new translation feature will be available globally. It currently supports over 90 languages. The new feature is designed to make it easier to share content with an international audience.
As a reminder, while the new feature can translate text, Instagram says that audio translation is “currently” unavailable. However, in May, Instagram launched the display of automatic subtitles for English stories. Thus, one day the service may be able to translate the soundtrack of stories.
