German automaker Porsche has released third-quarter and full-year US sales of its vehicles, comparing results to similar periods last year. It is quite significant that the brand, known primarily for sports cars, is currently the best seller of crossovers and electric cars, while the iconic 718 and 911 are at the bottom of the company’s ranking along with Panamera.

As you can see, since the beginning of the year, the Macan and Cayenne crossovers show themselves best with the results of 16,579 units. and 15.108 pcs. Compared to last year, each of the models was able to attract approximately 3,000 more customers.

The Porsche Taycan electric car more than doubled its sales, with 7,228 units sold to date, up from just 2,897 purchases in the same period last year.

The iconic Porsche 911 dropped to fourth place, which even slightly increased sales (6,729 versus 6,402), but could not compete with the electric novelty Taycan. The situation is similar for the Porsche 718 – the more affordable sports car showed growth, and even more noticeable than the 911 model (3.165 versus 1.956), but this is not enough for real competition.

In last place in the US is the Panamera sports fastback (2,806 units), whose buyers are increasingly choosing its electric counterpart. If this trend continues, then the Germans may soon completely abandon the sale of this model in the US market in favor of the Taycan.

Recall that the Porsche Taycan electric car came out on top in the sales structure last year in the European market. In its first year on the market, the Germans were able to sell 20,000 Porsche Taycan electric vehicles worldwide.
