IONIQ 5 is the first representative of a new line of electric vehicles from Hyundai. The design of the car is inspired by the concept car Hyundai 45. The electric car is remembered for its peculiar front and rear optics and stamping on the doors.

The novelty is a mid-size crossover. Dimensions: 4635 x 1890 x 1605 mm, wheelbase length – 3000 mm. The boot volume is 531 liters (1591 liters with the second row of seats folded). The car is built on the E-GMP platform and is available in versions with rear and all-wheel drive.

The IONIQ 5 is offered in two basic configurations, which are summarized in the table below:

The basic one is the rear-wheel-drive version with a standard power reserve (58 kWh battery / 320-350 km). It is equipped with a 125 kW electric motor with a torque of 350 Nm. Acceleration to “hundreds” takes 8.5 seconds. Farthest (72.6 kWh battery / 470-480 km) will be able to drive the rear-wheel-drive version with an increased range (160 kW / 350 Nm engine, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.4 s). And the fastest is the all-wheel-drive IONIQ 5 with extended range. He received electric motors with a total power of 225 kW and a torque of 605 Nm. It accelerates to “hundreds” in 5.2 s.

The electric car supports fast DC charging up to 350 kW. The company says it can replenish a charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. Also, the car itself will deliver energy (up to 3.6 kW) to power any accessories or devices. A solar roof will be offered as an option.

The car interior is minimalistic and focused on the comfort of the driver and passengers. The front seats can be reclined, and leg rest cushions are provided. In front of the driver are two 12-inch displays. One of them serves as a dashboard, the second is intended for the infotainment system. There is also a head-up display with support for augmented reality technology. Also declared support for Hyundai SmartSense, Highway Driving Assist 2, and others, which are responsible for safety while driving.

Hyundai has yet to specify the price of the IONIQ 5. The electric crossover is expected to go on sale for about $ 30,000 for the base version. The car can be found at dealers in the first half of this year, but only “in some markets.”
