Huawei is expected to unveil the new smartphone later this month, on July 29th. The smartphone is expected to be the Huawei P50 Pro, and a teaser video was recently posted missing some details on the cameras installed in the smartphone. Attentive viewers of the teaser were able to zoom in to read the text next to the camera lenses.
Although very difficult to see, the text next to the camera matrices reads “VARIO-SUMMILUX-H1: 1.8 – 3.4 / 18 – 125ASPH”. It’s worth noting that the focal length and aperture are similar to those found on the P40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro. Looking at the numbers a little deeper, this means that the telephoto lens offers 5x zoom.
An ultra-wide-angle lens will be equivalent to 18mm. One aspect that remains a mystery is the sensors used in cameras. The official launch of the P50 Pro is expected next week. Then all the details of the camera and other aspects of the phone should be revealed.
Many flagship smartphones are so similar that their cameras can only distinguish them. Camera quality is one of the main characteristics that attract buyers to a particular brand. Other details of the P50 Pro have surfaced in past leaks.
Images of the device were leaked in March, showing a design that some people didn’t like. The leaked renders highlighted the camera array style, which many felt is not very attractive, with an egg-shaped shape. The leaks did suggest that the P50 Pro would ditch the dual front cameras found on past Pro devices in favor of a single punch-hole camera in the center of the 6.6-inch screen.
