Due to multiple US sanctions, Huawei recently released its Kirin 9000 chipset, which is likely to be the company’s last in-house-made processor.
The Huawei P40 series was thought to be the last to use the Kirin 9000. However, today the Huawei CEO revealed that it had reserved a significant portion of the Kirin 9000 SoC for its future smartphones, including the P50 and Mate 50 series.
It is also reported that the Huawei P50 lineup will be powered by the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000e chipsets. The base P50 will get a display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and the Pro version will have a screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The P50 is expected to have the same camera as the Mate40, but with increased zoom capabilities.
The Huawei P50 series will launch in the first quarter of this year and the Mate 50 in the second quarter.
