In November last year, information appeared that Huawei intends to sell the smartphone business to Honor. This decision was made in the best interests of the Honor brand to help keep it afloat “in difficult times.” After the deal was finalized, Huawei ceased to own any stake in Honor’s business.
As an independent brand, Honor has already announced the release of the Band 6 fitness tracker and MagicBook Pro 2021 laptop at CES 2021. Now the company is preparing for the presentation of the Honor V40 5G smartphone. On her Weibo page, she posted a teaser with the date of the announcement.
The technical characteristics of the smartphone have not yet been disclosed. The device is expected to receive a Dimensity 1000+ chipset, a 50 MP main camera, a display with rounded edges, support for 66W wired and 55W wireless charging. But it will be much more interesting to find out how things are with the software and whether Google services will be installed on the device. We will find out about this in a few days.
