LG has released an updated line of its Gram ultraportable laptops, switching them to 12th generation Intel Core processors. Now all 6 models in the family use the new Intel Alder Lake chips. The devices received other improvements. For example, customers now have the option of configuring the system with 5200 MHz DDR5 RAM for a total capacity of up to 32 GB. In addition, the LG Gram line has received support for PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD drives, and 2 drive slots are available in all devices.
In addition to hardware innovations, the 2022 LG Gram 17 also has software improvements. In particular, thanks to the integration of LG Glance technology, several new features have been implemented. For example, the laptop screen is automatically locked when the user leaves, and the image is blurred when the computer notices that someone is looking at the screen over the user’s shoulder. When an external display is connected, the cursor will automatically move to the screen the user is looking at.
LG Gram 17 Screen
The LG Gram 17 and the overall line uses IPS panels with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Standard laptop models deliver brightness up to 350 nits, while 2-in-1 models deliver up to 300 nits. At the same time, they have a new anti-reflective coating to reduce reflections.
In addition, LG has expanded its Gram product line with a 16-inch portable monitor. Model 16MQ70 is equipped with an IPS panel with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels (16:10 aspect ratio). The device provides a contrast ratio of 1200:1 and coverage of 99% of the DCI-P3 color space. The LG 16 MQ70 monitor is already on sale for $350.

Gram’s updated lineup of laptops is also available, with the 15-inch model starting at $1,199 and the flagship 17-inch variant starting at $1,599.
