In addition to reviewing smartphone cameras, DxOMark also tests devices for their sound characteristics. Today the lab has published a report on testing the gaming smartphone Asus ROG Phone 5, which has not even been released yet.
The smartphone scored 79 points and took first place in the DxOMark ranking. It overtook the flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, which held the lead throughout 2020. The testers noted the ROG Phone 5’s good volume, sound quality, lack of distortion, and powerful bass. In the playback category, the smartphone scored 78 points.
Here is what the DxOMark experts wrote: “Asus’ latest flagship, the ROG Phone 5, delivers the best sound quality of any phone we’ve tested to date, with consistent results and category-leading mid-point scores in both playback and recording. While it’s not the loudest or strongest bass we’ve measured to date, the Asus ROG Phone 5 is still a great choice for almost any use case.”
The Asus ROG Phone 5 will be released on March 10th.
