The NSPK operator announced today that Apple has begun removing Mir cards from Apple Pay. New cards can no longer be added. Already added, the company plans to disable the possibility of contactless payment. According to journalists, the company will be able to completely remove Mir cards from Apple Wallet by Saturday, March 26.
Users have previously reported the inability to add a Mir card to Apple Pay, but this only applied to sanctioned banks. Since yesterday, no one has been able to add the World map. In addition, the Apple Pay and Wallet page has disappeared from the Apple website in Russia.
Samsung Pay and Mir Pay work with Mir cards as usual, Sberbank said. Unfortunately, there is no Mir Pay app for Apple devices. Presumably, by March 26 in Russia it will be impossible to pay with the iPhone and Apple Watch anywhere.
