Apple, a few days ago announced new laptops based on Apple’s proprietary 5-nanometer single-chip M1 system. She presented models of MacBook Air and MacBook Pro costing from $1299-$1899. Since no laptop on the market can boast such a single-chip system, there are no full-fledged analogues of the new products from the Cupertino manufacturer. But in this article, we will look at several 13-inch solutions in the same price segment.
ASUS ZenBook S
So, for $1299, you can buy ASUS ZenBook S with a 13.3-inch Full HD matrix. The laptop is equipped with a 4-core Intel Core i7-8565U processor with a frequency of 1.8-4.6 GHz, 8 GB of RAM expandable up to 16 GB, and a 512 GB SSD drive.
The model runs on the operating system Windows 10. You can use a fingerprint scanner to unlock. The webcam resolution is 0.3 megapixels. Also noteworthy is the backlit keyboard, three USB-C connectors, a headphone jack, and a battery life of up to 19 hours.
ASUS ZenBook 13
The second option is ASUS ZenBook 13. It costs $50 more than the previous model, but at the same time, it can boast of discrete graphics GeForce MX250 from NVIDIA with 2 GB of video memory. The laptop’s heart is a 4-core Intel Core i7-10410U platform with a frequency of 1.8-4.9 GHz.
The laptop carries 16 GB of LPDDR3-2133 RAM. The solid-state drive capacity is 512 GB. The body is made of metal, and the device works without recharging for 13 hours. ASUS ZenBook 13 (another one)
Go ahead, and next in line, we have another ASUS ZenBook 13. It has everything the same as the previous model – Intel Core i7-10510U, 16 GB of RAM, 13.3 ”IPS Full HD panel, etc. But this device costs $1499.
This model features an increased volume of solid-state drive SSD. If the version for $1499 is equipped with a 512 GB SSD, then, in this case, the capacity is doubled – up to 1 TB.
HP Specter X360
Now let’s move on to two more expensive solutions. Both cost $1799. The first model is the HP Specter X360. This is a convertible Windows 10 Home laptop with a 360-degree lid. The display is built on OLED, has a resolution of 4K ULTRA HD, a diagonal of 13.3 inches, and supports touch input.
The laptop is powered by an Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor with a frequency of 1.3 GHz to 3.9 GHz and integrated Iris Plus graphics. The volume of LPDDR4-3200 RAM is 16 GB. The SSD has a storage capacity of 512 GB. The model received a 1-megapixel camera, enclosed in a plastic and metal case, and the battery life reaches 19 hours. We also note Mini-Jack, DisplayPort, and three USB-C, two of which have Thunderbolt 3 support.
Huawei MateBook X Pro
Finally, the latest model is called the Huawei MateBook X Pro. It is equipped with a 4-core Intel Core i7-10510U platform and has a discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics card with 2 GB VRAM. The amount of RAM is 16 GB. RAM type – LPDDR3; frequency – 2133 MHz.
A 1 TB SSD represents the storage subsystem. The laptop is equipped with a 13.9-inch display with a resolution of 2000 x 3000 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. It is based on the LTPS matrix. The model received four speakers, a fingerprint scanner, two USB-C, Mini-jack. 1-megapixel camera and 7565 mAh battery, which provides autonomy for up to 12 hours.
As you can see, in addition to the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with a budget of $1299-$1899, you can buy several attractive laptops. Still, none of them can boast of the main feature of Apple solutions – the 5-nanometer M1 single-chip system, which in the Geekbench 5 benchmark shows results at the level of the 16-core 32-thread AMD Ryzen 9 5950X desktop processor worth $ 800 excluding taxes.
